Engine Looking Sweet
Getting closer! I painted the engine with POR-15 Engine Enamel… Buick Green, brushed it on… easy breezy. The carburetor is rebuilt but not mounted yet in this photo. Distributor is rebuilt and installed (sorry for the out of date photo). We have an issue with the generator bracket interfering with the generator. You can only pivot the generator about 1 inch along the upper bracket slot. I am not sure what to think of it, the parts are all OEM. Maybe we’re missing something?
After installing the distributor, we wanted to get the motor to top-dead-center, so we hooked up the battery and cranked it over… but it wouldn’t stop cranking! Marty doesn’t know why, but hasn’t investigated too deeply yet. Anyway, he decided to just static-time it instead. Next visit to his shop, hopefully we can get the plug wires on, radiator hoses on, new vacuum hoses and other minor details. After that it’s ready to fire! We’ll get it on the lift after that to inspect things, adjust the brakes and install the replacement emergency-brake cables that I bought from Mike Waller of classicautopartsonline.com.
I noticed on classicautopartsonline.com website a 60 le sabre for sale.. same exact one you bought I think. Isnt it ?
